Today was such a good day. Eli made it home around 7:30 last night, and waking up next to him this morning just made everything feel right again. We were up around 6:30, getting the kids dressed and ready for church.
Service was wonderful — we went over the book of Amos, and it really spoke to me. There’s something about being in church together as a family that grounds me again after a long week apart. One verse that stood out was Amos 5:14 — “Seek good, and not evil, that ye may live: and so the Lord, the God of hosts, shall be with you.” It was such a good reminder to keep choosing what’s right, even in the small things.
Afterward, we came home for a bit. My daughter went with her best friend to a birthday party, so while she was gone, Eli and I took the other kids to the mall. We just walked around, grabbed some Arby’s, and came home to relax and watch football for the rest of the day.
It wasn’t anything fancy — just simple, calm, and exactly what I needed.
